Abstract

Right after the 1974 Jolo conflagration, the Mindanao State University-Sulu was established in order to help Tausug attain development and quality of life. The growth of the university however has been affected by insurgency especially in the first ten years of its operation which coincided with the height of the armed conflict between the Manila government and the Moro National Liberation Front.
